Thank you again for this beautiful and deeply moving portrait of a truly dedicated selfless teacher and human being, a widow left to continue each day despite a devastating loss of a lifetime partner. Through this emptiness left at home, she still courageously pushed forward determined to be fully present physically and emotionally for the children she taught. This is a truly inspirational and moving accomplishment at a time when most would have walked away defeated, lost, have given up. No matter who we are in life, our status, our work, we are equal in that we are human beings first, not defined by our job, income or position, as our position, or job, or anything else is only as good as the person behind it.
We saw this so perfectly presented in the form of these two very beautiful souls, the precious teacher and the precious artist, Takeru Satoh. Takeru, as usual, showed us who he is to his very core, compassionate, empathetic, selfless, kind, thoughtful and humane. It doesn't get any better than that.
I have had the privilege and great honor in my life of serving in the counselling and senior care field, and I often wished that every person could experience the endless rewards and unforgettable moments that are such gifts given by those you care for. My deepest hope is that everyone every day appreciates the little joys, small accomplishments in life, in each other and those around us. Even a smile, a listening ear, being present for a moment can bring a little light into someone's dark day. No one in this life is better than anyone else, we have hearts, souls, we feel hurt, disappointment, we grieve, we feel lost, we love, we rejoice, we need, we want, we desire. In that regard, are we that different?
