Japan alone has produced some of the most outstanding agile robust tennis players with Nishikori most prominent along with an undoubtedly right behind-Nishioka. Nishioka has fresh speed and angles while the older Nishikori plays a more traditional power/finesse exchange game.
Kei played brilliantly, as did Federer ~ absolutely agree with the comments here… it was exciting tennis — not like in 2023 where besides Andy Murray the dullness was zzzzzzz (i'm already sleeping)

この試合は印象深い。錦織は速いテンポのテニスを志向していた時期。フェデラーは速いのが大得意な人。序盤はめちゃくちゃ速い試合になった。錦織のペースだったがフェデラーの試合勘が蘇って、観客はフェデラーの復活を期待して声援を送ってた。錦織がペースを変えられたら、結果が変わったきがする。
これが最先端のテニスに感じたが、時代はそんな方向ではなかった。
強さと粘りのテニスかな。あまり面白くないね。
