絵までは良くても、立体化したら「無いな…」てなったんじゃないですかね。個人的な感想としては、露出度云々よりも服の着方や構造として意味がわからなくてダサいのが問題だと感じました。そういうものとして成立する水着とは訳が違うと思います。
ビジュアルがリアル寄りになるほど、非現実的な露出デザインの衣装って合わなくなると思うんですよね。作品全体が女の子のそういうビジュアルを楽しむというコンセプトであるとか、2Dならそこまで気にならなかったかもしれません。
露出度でいえばキャミィの旧衣装も結構な変態レベル。過去作の再現だから成立するけど、今のリアルなビジュアルでの新衣装としては不自然過ぎて無理だろうなという印象です。
