Hello my children!
Today I am sharing my swatches and review of the recently released Holo Taco Camping nail polish collection. There are 7 polishes in total, 6 in varying formulas and 1 new topper. I tested how these polishes compare to others in my collection, and over black. There is also a limited edition S’mores scented nail oil pen available and Holo Taco separately released a new base coat: Sticky Base that I used here.

7:24 Wow… I'm a minority computer watcher…. living that double monitor digital artist lifestyle. I love camping and bugs, but i also love shocking bright colors, so this collection's nice but not really tempting.
Not sure if an ipad is a computer or mobile😂 that’s how I watch so I can dim the screen. I do that for the same reason I use subtitles- frequent migraines. Womp womp. So no worries, it’s not you at all!
I don’t understand the HT plain crellys either! With a jelly I can use it as a topper or do a gradient with it and other cool stuff. Solid crellys are just meh for me, but maybe I’m missing something cool I can do with them🤷♀️
Okay, Stop Buggin' is definitely for me, that green colour is so pretty! The rest of the collection is definitely not my thing unfortunately
I sometimes turn subtitles on when my headphones are out of battery and I’m on the bus!
I’m on a 12 polish (for the year) low buy this year, but somehow I haven’t bought anything yet. I might have enough left over by black Friday to place my first HT order! I really want the silicone mat to do my nails on instead of random spare paper I have on my desk
I’d love a base coat comparison at some point! I’ve never tried a sticky base coat.
Of this collection, Off The Grid is my clear favorite. I thought I was going to like Stop Buggin' more when it was the mysterious shots in the preview videos, but I was hoping for a crushed holo pine forest green, and not a christmasy foil shade. I'm not loving these very textured, foil-packed shades because I like a smooth nail and easy removal. Gonna wait to pick up any, though. I have so many more polishes now than I can get through! If they release a crazy halloween collection though, I'll eat my words. Love your videos!
I rarely comment on videos, but I am leaving one here to say how much I enjoyed this. This is the first video of yours that I watched and now I want to go back and watch more. I love your sense of humor. I laughed out loud several times throughout the video and don’t think I’ve ever laughed at a nail video before. I also appreciate all of the effort that you put in, all of the good information that you provide, and I love that your family gets involved as well. The only issue I have with you is that you don’t love pink nail polish 😂. Thanks for the entertainment and information. You’re awesome!

Also really like this formula, somewhat a successor of the frosted metals (I miss them…)
Thank you for talking about the frequencies of the collections, as being international, I just can't justify collecting Holo Taco anymore. It's sad, but I am discovering other cool brands that I overlooked in the past 😀 You, however, Mr Naildaddy, are definitely, 100%, going to give me mega sads that I can't get your Tyler's Trinkets collection – as that white shimmer reflective crelly, looks like a birds egg, and I want it <sad Scottish sods>
I do actually like this collection and feel it fits the theme and the colour story is much more cohesive then the anniversary collection! i'll probably pick some of these up black friday
The best large topper I have ever found is Orly. I have a few of their toppers and they are the best in my opinion.
I agree the launches have felt too frequent. I haven't even gotten to wear the bon voyage collection yet! (Still enjoying my PBE haul) I'll wait to pick up anything from this collection.

I have heard the Boom, Toasted is very similar to Mooncat's Witch Hazel

I have picked up 5 of these polishes along with some others on my wishlist to make up the shipping for international. I have been disappointed by more polishes than not in the past 7 or 8 months so only buy if I'm able & want more than 1 polish.
The frequency of releases does feel a lot & I do really dislike the fomo tactics. I liked 2 polishes from the bon voyage collection, but not enough to buy & make up for the free shipping, so I was going to wait & see if they were left only for holo taco to pull them 2 weeks after release & say they'll be back for the vault release. It just feels like awful tactics. I understand they are a business & need to make money, but I hate the fomo tactics & they are really grating on me now.
I tend to change nail polish a lot & sometimes I can peel it off so I haven't got many complaints about that, but I have EDS & that's apparently a thing that can happen as our conenctive tissue is unstable (same goes for make up & I only learned of this recently after being frustrated about things not working for me for years that others held as holy grail products)

Also, yes… the releases seem too close together. I’m glad this wasn’t limited since I’m increasing the intervals between my orders.

I completely agree with Stop Buggn’…out of all the polishes in this collection, this didn’t seem to fit for me either! It was too bright and shiny and kind of an unnatural color for this collection. Seems to me it would fit better in a winter or Christmas set🥴
Boom Toasted reminds me of the gold Manicure Christine reviewed years ago when she was exposing this one Salon for claiming the manicure cost 10'000 dollars because the polish contained "real gold dust" when the Polish did not contain real gold and even if did, gold dust is cheap
I really liked this release except for the star topper. I already have 2 scattered holo toppers, and any stars I fish out will look horrible on my tiny, curved nails. I know people were excited for it, though.
i appreciate you touching on the frequency of the launches— im a casual fan of simply (followed her early youtube) so i don't keep up with everything. i honestly was getting confused about every month when i saw more unfamiliar shade names. it's good to know it feels fast to other people too

Im surprised with how much hate there is for the frequent drops, I like them! I only buy polishes I actually want and wouldn't even consider getting a whole collection, so having a bunch of options when I decide to go collect a couple more is really nice. The only collections I really think work as whole purchases are toppers since I'm more inclined to actually use every single one regularly. Even then, though, I wouldn't buy for myself. I'd put it on a Christmas or birthday wish list!
Love your vids! My biggest concerns with Holo Taco are staining and dry time. Can you speak to both? I'd love to see Dazzle Dry reviews 🙏

Feeling sparks is gorgeous. Like Off the grid as well. Quite a lovely collection here. Might have to find some money.
Dazzle Dry base coat seems to be the only base coat that has worked for me. It is applied slightly warmed up and cools in the nail. You apply 2 coats and use your regular polish and top coats as usual.
Stop Buggin would totally fit as a beautiful Egyptian scarab bug vibe but isn't what I think of as camping bugs 😂
