MenaRD, the two time Capcom Cup champion of Street Fighter V, the EVO Japan 2024, 2025 and EVO Vegas 2025 champion for Street Fighter 6, has challenged Daigo to a First to 10 showmatch. This feels almost like picking an unfair fight, until you realize the history and strength of Daigo in the long set format.

Prep-time Daigo has long been revered as the ultimate competitor, the greatest display of fighting game excellence. Time after time, when a new world champion would be crowned, Daigo would be there to take them down, as the true final boss of Street Fighter.

  1. 30:21 Speaking of this set, I've always wondered why they insisted on using the newly released VT2s for both characters. This set was a couple of months after AE had released but I think even then the consensus was that VT1 for both characters was better, especially for Akuma. By using VT2 Tokido sacrificed double air fireball and raging demon setups which I feel is huge.

    Either way, fantastic video

  2. I think it is interesting how this video opens with moment 37. Perfect example of how it’s not over until it’s over if you have the skill. Sf6 represents the exact opposite of this. Checkmate situations at 70% health with almost all high execution thrown away. So who is gonna win the exhibition? I couldnt guess. If Batman had to guess that many times does prep time even matter?

  3. Yo brian good timing on this video I'm stuck behind a massive wreck right now and this is the only thing getting me through

  4. The problem with Diago losing in future Street Fighter games is the fact that Street Fighter stopped being Street Fighter after Alpha2 (I'm aware that Japanese players didn't even play American player in Alpha2 but I still stand by this). Street Fighter 3 was the last technical based Street Fighter game which I didn't particularly like but after that SF became much slower and more beginner friendly. In past Street Fighter games you'd never get random people beating top Street Fighter players that's how high the skill ceiling was.

  5. Hey Brian, thanks for the video. I'm a surgeon and a huge car crash happened yesterday. I couldn't save any of them. But now I have something to watch to take my mind off things

  6. ブライアン、この動画をアップしてくれてありがとう。救急車で高速道路の交通事故現場に向かっていたところだったんだ。これで病院までの道中で見るものができたよ。

  7. I know it's not strictly Street Fighter but you could have mentioned the Ogawa Guilty Gear exhibition match to show how far and wide Daigo's FG genius and tentacles reach.

  8. Hey thank me Brain for taking my car in a highway to the hospital while watching your video, Now i have ambulance
